Arena
Ice arenas are specialized indoor facilities designed to accommodate a range of ice-based activities, including hockey, figure skating, and recreational skating. These venues are essential to communities, athletic programs, and competitive leagues, offering year-round access to ice regardless of weather conditions.
Typically, an ice arena features at least one full-size rink, spectator seating, changing rooms, and maintenance equipment such as ice resurfacers. Many arenas also feature additional amenities such as fitness areas, concession stands, and multi-purpose rooms for training sessions or community events.
Due to the combination of cold temperatures, sharp skate blades, and high foot traffic, the materials and finishes used throughout an ice arena must be exceptionally durable. Flooring systems — particularly around the rink, in hallways, and locker rooms — are often selected for their slip resistance, skate protection, and resistance to moisture and wear.
